Google know the WiFi password is accessible from Android devices?

Recently came news that Google can find all the WiFi password is accessed by any device with Android operating system. How could this happen? That said, Google can know the password to my WiFi via Backup feature data contained on Android devices.
Backup my data features can be accessed via the menu Settings >> Reset >> Backup & Backup my data where there is a description in the menu, which reads:
"Back up the data app, Wi-Fi passwords and other settings to Google servers"
Actually my Data Backup feature has long been available in the operating system Android , and this feature first appeared on the release of Android 2.2 Froyo by default WiFi password is sent back to Google servers accessible.
Almost all Android smartphone manufacturers include this feature with a different name, the HTC uses the name "Backup my settings", while Samsung and Sony use the name "Backup my Data". Although it comes with a different name, the general function of these features are the same.
Backup my Data
If my Data Backup feature is enabled, the smartphone or the tablet will regularly backup the settings, app data, and passwords to the Google server and the user can perform a restore if a problem occurs on the device.
Then what is the problem of the presence of this feature? The problem is the user's privacy, because there is no information or assurances from Google that they are not going to read the WiFi user passwords stored in the servers of Google.
As reported by Phone Arena (15/09/2013), to date there has been no response or Google regarding the "Backup my data" amid crowded discussed in cyberspace and people who are sensitive to privacy.
However, for users who do not want the feature "Backup my data" is able to disable it via the menu Settings >> Backup & Reset and remove the check mark or a checklist on my Backup feature data.
