A total of 27 miners in Afghanistan found dead after being trapped in a mine site located in Samangan, said local authorities told the BBC.
Regional government spokesman Mohammad Seddiq Azizi said the miners working for a coal mining company Abkhorak.
The mining complex collapsed and four members of the rescue team also reportedly seriously injured.
Local authorities say rescuers are not equipped with the proper equipment.
Mining activity in the country is an industry that is fully controlled by the government.
Abundant reserves
Feared, as many as 13 miners were still trapped in the mine located 215 kilometers from the capital Kabul.
This incident is the latest affecting the mining industry of Afghanistan.
In December, 11 miners were killed in a similar incident in Baghlan.
Afghanistan is known as the area has reserves of oil, gas, and copper are abundant.
