Olympus OM-D E-M1, Combine Mirrorless and DSLR




Olympus Imaging Corporation launches new camera flagship title or that is a combination of its flagship mirrorless and DSLR technology for professionals. The camera is called Olympus OM-D E-M1. 

According to Sandy Chandra, Marketing Manager Customer Care Indonesia Olympus, the Olympus OM-D E-M1 is a mirrorless camera with the latest technology, so that its size becomes smaller than regular DSLR cameras. 


"This is a professional camera with a smaller size and can be used in extreme weather," Sandy said, on the sidelines of the launch of the Olympus OM-D E-M1, in Jakarta, October 8, 2013. 

He added that currently, Olympus wants to change the paradigm of the people who claim that large-sized professional camera sure to produce a good quality image. 

"In fact, the size (camera) is not important, the important thing is the quality of the result image," said Sandy. 

Olympus OM-D E-M1 is a 16.3 MP camera that is equipped with a new Live MOS sensor with on-chip Phase Detection AF technology and the latest TruePic image processor VII. The resulting image quality to be better and faster autofocus his. 

Besides superior because it is resistant to water splashes, this camera can also stay lit at temperatures up to minus 10 degrees Celsius, and has electric viewfinder in the body. 

Olympus OM-D E-M1 marketed in Japan starting in October 2013. In Indonesia, this camera will land around the beginning of next month. 

"We are targeting to the first quarter of 2014, the Olympus OM-D E-M1 will sell around 2,000 units. Currently, cameras Olympus OM-D E-M1 already booked about hundreds of units," said Sandy. 

Olympus OM-D E-M1 (body only) is priced at Rp19, 8 million. As for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 plus 12-40 mm f2.8 lens Pro removed at Rp28, 9 million. While the 12-40 mm lens f2.8 Pro alone sale for Rp12, 8 million.
