PT.Telekomunikasi Indonesia.Tbk prepare thousands of dots or wifi hotspots at various locations throughout Indonesia, to support the acceleration of internet access in the community.
Executive General Manager of Telkom's Consumer Services Division of the East Area, Sukardi Silalahi, contacted from Jakarta on Monday to explain, the construction of hotspot point made with subsidiaries and business units under it, such as Telkomsel, Speedy and Flexi.
"This form of Telkom's commitment to simplify information access for the community, so that the Indonesian people more advanced and intelligent," he said.
According to Sukardi, the construction of thousands of hotspots as a point of follow-up of the launching of the program "Indonesia Wifi" by Telkom president director Rinaldi Firmansyah, some time ago.
Construction of point hotspot installation be carried out simultaneously with the allocation of places vary between Telkomsel, Speedy and Flexi. Telkomsel provides installation priority hotspots in shopping malls, then Flexinet in shopping malls and educational institutions, while Speedy in public spaces are widely used community.
"Later, various locations will be installed hotspots owned by Telkom and Telkom product user community can access the internet at this location," said Sukardi.
He added, from about 5,400 hotspots point to be built on Telkomsel, approximately 516 points already installed. While the hotspot Speedy 312 point plan has been operated from approximately 2000 points which will be built in the area of East Java to eastern Indonesia.
Flexi Division area of East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara has also built a 36 point Flexinet hotspots in shopping malls and campuses.
"Looking ahead, after all installed, Telkom will apply a single sign-on, where Speedy home users can also access a free hotspot. This also applies to users of Telkomsel and Flexinet," said Sukardi.
In support of services "broadband" in particular Speedy, Telkom through Infratel Division and subsidiary Telkom International has set up the bandwidth capacity of up to 100 Gbps. In addition, Telkom is also currently completing the construction of fiber optic networks in the project "Nusantara Super Highway" along more than 47,000 km from Aceh to Papua.
