PARIS - The French government is dominated by the socialist camp, ready to pass new legislation to legalize same-sex marriage. These laws are rumored to be valid in 2013.

Since the French presidential campaign, French President Francois Hollande who just took office, has promised to legalize marriage for gay and lesbian citizens. But before, Hollande did not mention the obvious, when legislation legalizing same-sex marriage was legalized.

"Next year, same-sex couples allowed to marry and adopt children. They have the same rights and obligations as married couples," said the French Junior Minister for family affairs Dominique Bertinotti, told France 24, Saturday (30/6/2012).

So far, same-sex marriage legal in some European countries such as Denmark, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden. The issue of same-sex marriage is quite a taboo subject in the Fashion District. It was also very condemnation of a number of religious institutions.

The legalization of same-sex marriage will increase the popularity of Hollande as agents of social change in France. Hollande was expectedto bring significant changes, as well as former President Francois Mitterand. French President Mitterrand was the first woman appointed as prime minister and abolished the death penalty.

But gay activists resident in France said that talks about gay issues in the country is still considered weird. State media in Mode is also often refer to gay people with other titles that are less good.
