Messi looks disappointed when substituted in the second half against Real Sociedad.
Lionel Messi was reportedly angry over media reports that said he reacted negatively when substituted during Barcelona's 4-1 win over Real Sociedad.
The 26-year-old footballer scored his seventh goal of the season which also contributes to a win for Barca, but he pulled out of the field by coach Gerardo Martino 10 minutes from time.
A tabloid later reported that Messi was not happy with the replacement.
But Messi said: "I do not make a negative motion when exiting the field. I can not accept that there are certain media reports lie."
In writing on his official Facebook page Messi said: "Nothing is fun when replaced. But we have to accept it because it is the best for the team."
"What I can not accept is that you are telling the media that lie about a situation that goes on around me."
In the home match Neymar finally scored his first goal for the Blaugrana.
Barcelona have won all six games in La Liga and lead the standings on goal difference despite only from Atletico Madrid.
The main contenders Real Madrid have the chance to get close to the top if the win in the derby against Atletico Madrid next Saturday.
