A provincial minister and at least seven other people were killed in a bomb attack in northwest Pakistan in celebration of Eid al-Adha.
Israrullah Gandapur were greeted residents at his home in Kullachi when a suicide bomber attacked, witnesses said.
Reports say bombers first attacked guards and blew himself up in the living room Gandapur who served the provincial justice minister.
About 20 others were wounded in the attack.
Gandapur from party Tehreek-e-Insaf, which ruled the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and supports peace talks with the Taliban.
Yet there are those who claimed responsibility for the attack.
After the Eid prayers
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is an area that many face attacks by Taliban militants.
Last week a leader of SavePakistan Taliban told the BBC that he was open to talks but will still attack U.S. targets and allies.
The attack comes a day after the death of Governor of Logar Province in AfghanistanClick eastern, Arsala Jamal, a bomb attack on a mosque in the provincial capital, Pul-i-Alam.
Jamal is being greeted pilgrims after Eid prayers when a bomb hidden under the table exploded and instantly killed the governor.
Although there has been no claim of attacks, many of which accused the Taliban militants were behind the attack in Logar and previous attacks.
