Traces of poison were not found in the body of Chilean poet laureate, Pablo Neruda, as described by the forensic experts.
Official statement said Neruda died of cancer
The results were announced after an investigation conducted over six months by 15 people from Chile and foreign experts.
Leftist poet died in 1973, after the military coup that brought General Augusto Pinochet to power in Chile.
Neruda tomb unearthed, and his body was taken in April for investigation because of allegations that the driver and his personal assistant says the poet died of poisoning.
Neruda, who died at the age of 69 years, was a friend of President Salvador Allende, who was ousted by the military.
"There are no traces of chemicals found," said Patricio Bustos, director of the Forensic Chile on Friday (8/11).
Bustos confirm that the results of an investigation into Neruda's body seems to support the official statement said he died of cancer.

Suspicion
As with the previous results of the investigation of the alleged corpse Neruda, will not satisfy all parties.
"Neruda case will not be closed this day," said the Chilean Communist Party lawyer Eduardo Contreras.
"Today we are going to ask for more samples. They refer to chemical substances but no studies of the biological substance. A very important milestone has been closed and taken very seriously but this has not been done."
Neruda's driver and personal assistant Manuel Araya, has been suspected that the poet was poisoned.
Araya said Neruda called her from the hospital, and said he felt ill after getting shot in the abdomen.
Araya investigation into allegations that the Chilean government began in 2011.
Araya suspicion supported by the Communist Party of Chile, which is to say Neruda did not have symptoms associated with prostate cancer who stated the cause of death.
They say that the military government would not worry Neruda fled to Mexico and began a campaign against the Pinochet regime.
