Kiev: Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych with opposition leaders reportedly agreed to a cease-fire following the death of 26 people in clashes protests this week.
In the Ukrainian presidential sites, such as the BBC published on Thursday (02/20/2014), mentioned the government and opposition began negotiations to halt the bloodshed that occurred in the last 2 days. The two sides also agreed to change the conditions to be normal as usual.
This agreement created after intense clashes occurred last few days. Protesters mobilize petrol bombs and stones to fight the officers. This they did to protect the tent which became the headquarters of the demonstration. In addition, a number of demonstrators also reportedly managed to control the central post office.
Wednesday, February 19 tense morning in Kiev, capital of Ukraine, as President Viktor Yanukovych ordered officials to disperse anti-government protesters headquarters, following a bloody clash that occurred on Monday and Tuesday.
Already 21 people were killed, 9 of the other 11 members of the police and civilians. "Two of the nine members of the police were killed by gunshot wounds. Similarly, three other civilians," said a spokesman for State Police Kiev, Olha Bilyk.
Meanwhile, injuries continue to grow. "We do not think injuries will reach 1,000 people. Doubled amount exceeds our estimates. A number of hospitals could not cope with the casualties," beber medical expert, Olga Bogomolez.
President Yanukovych has just sacked Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Volodymyr Zamana which was later replaced Navy Commander Yuriy Ilyin. Unknown reason the president decided it.
