Philippine celebrated the election of Megan Young as the first citizen of the country that wins the Miss World 2013, which was held in Bali.
Philippine President Benigno Aquino congratulates Young, 23 years old, and said the victory was a source of pride of the people.
Meanwhile, the victory was also appointed as the Young headlines the Sunday newspapers as well as on social networking media.
Young victory has become "a source of pride and inspiration for the Filipino people," President Aquino said in a statement.
"May victory be able to remind all Filipinos about our capabilities," he added.
Miss World finals held Saturday night (28/09) had been due to be held in Sentul, West Java, clickbut moved to Bali due to protests by a number of people.
"Finally the crown with blue jewel for the Philippines," so the title in one of the Manila Bulletin headlines.
Philippine newspaper also raised the tight security at the Miss World contest in Bali following opposition protests.
Megan Young, a film student, has become a TV star and several movies since 2005.
