Expanded Tsunami Warning India, Hundreds Evacuated

New Delhi, India Authority expand the tsunami warning after an earthquake measuring 8.5 on the Richter Scale (SR) thathit Simeulue, Aceh. Even hundredsof people have been evacuated.

"We had to evacuate several hundred people. So far no reports of any damage," said Shakti Sinha, officials of the Andaman and Nicobar region told AFP on Wednesday (04/11/2012).

Previously, the authority of India has issued a tsunami warning for Andaman and Nicobar. Population along the coasts of the island has been called upon to evacuateto places higher.

Now authorities also issued a tsunami warning for the coasts of India in the states of Kerala, Orissa, Goa and West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
