Bangkok - Thai authorities decided to close operations Phuket International Airport. This is done following the closure of the airport expansion tsunami warning for the six provinces in southern Thailand.

Meanwhile, Indian authorities also issued a tsunami warning following the quake, which also was up to the Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and India.Tsunami warning was issued for the eastern shores of India. India tsunami warning centersaid the tsunami waves as high as6 meters could occur along the east coast of India.Smaller tsunami waves can also be expected to occur in the remote Andaman islands and Nicobar. Meanwhile, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii, is a potentially earthquake-tsunami that would impact on the area of Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Myanmar, Thailand, Maldives Islands, Indian Ocean territory other, Malaysia, Pakistan, Somalia, Oman, Iran, Bangladesh, Kenya, South Africa and Singapore.
