Nato apologizes for Quran burning incident





Last year the Koran burning incident led to bloody demonstrations in Afghanistan. The U.S. commander of Nato forces as the leader in Afghanistan apologized for the incident of inappropriate disposal of the Koran that do U.S. forces.

Apology delivered Gen. John R Allen who also ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

"We have learned from this incident, we immediately intervene and stop them, he said.

Reports about the alleged Quran burning caused protests outside a U.S. military base in Bagram.

In a statement, General Allen said the investigation would examine whether the troops at the base Badram improperly dispose of books that include Islamic religious material contained Al Quran.

"Material which successfully secured will be given to the religious authorities, the statement said.

"We will thoroughly investigate this incident and will take steps to ensure this is not going back there again. I assure you ... I promise ... this is not something done intentionally, said Gen. Allen.
Gen. Allen then delivered a sincere apology for any impudence that occurred, including the president of Afghanistan, the Afghan government and the citizens of Afghanistan are noble.

April last year at least one person was killed and 18 others were injured after demonstrations broke out in Afghanistan after the burning of the Quran incident in the United States.
