Legendary musician Lou Reed dies

Lour Reed and David Bowie together making friends since 1972 solo album Transformer.

U.S. singer and former Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed, died at age 71.

Known of them with the song Perfect Day and Walk on the Wild Side,Reed is considered one of the singer-songwriter genre of rock music's most influential.

Velvet Underground and famous for their art of music as well as their collaboration with the Clickof Andy Warhol.

According to news agency Associated Press, Reed agent, Andrew Wylie, said he died of "heart-related diseases."

Wylie said the musician died at his home in Long Island, New York, on Sunday (27/10) morning local time and was ill "for several months."

Former member of the Velvet Underground, John Cale, wrote on its website: "The world has lost a songwriter and a good poet ... I lost 'my school friends.'"

Other musicians expressed their sorrow that The Who, who wrote nudge on Twitter: "RIP Lou Reed. Go in peace." While musicians Iggy Pop says this is "bad news."

Velvet Underground is an inspiration for many musicians.

As a former drinkers and drug users for years, vocalist born in Brooklyn in 1942 underwent a liver transplant in May after suffering liver failure.

"I was proof of the triumph of modern medicine," Reed said on its website on June 1.

The Velvet Underground never achieved commercial success during their existence in the 1960s. But their influence extends to the music in later decades also widely recognized.

Genre of punk, glam, and the flow of alternative rock that emerged in the 1970s, 80s and 90s all indebted to Reed, whose songs sung by many singers and younger bands like REM, David Bowie, Nirvana , and Patti Smith.

Music producer Brian Eno had concluded their influence by saying: "The first Velvet Underground album only sold 10,000 copies, but everyone who bought the album then formed a band."

The group has entered into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
